Annotation and visualization of place names in the Parian Marble
The text of the Parian Marble cites many place names related to the events described in the chronicle. 258 places have been annotated with Recogito, which is an online platform for collaborative document annotation maintained by Pelagios Commons.
Annotated places are accompanied by Pleiades URIs and geographic coordinates. Data and statistics are freely available and downloadable. The Recogito map embedded below allows to visualize the geography of the Parian Marble.
